Overview

The critical Care team at ELHT is looking to appoint a Band 3 secretary for a 12-month temporary contract. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, diverse and motivated multidisciplinary team in the 28-bed critical care unit – one of the largest in the Lancashire and South Cumbria Network.

Key responsibilities include day-to-day administration, production of confidential documents, writing letters to patients for follow-up and rehab clinic, inputting triage clinics onto the SharePoint page, taking minutes for meetings, producing KPI and mortality reports, and supporting governance and performance analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day administration and confidential document preparation.
  • Drafting and sending letters to patients for follow-up and rehab clinic.
  • Inputting triage clinics onto SharePoint and collecting patient data for national platforms.
  • Taking minutes for unit, acute-care team and Trust-level meetings.
  • Producing KPI reports, advanced analytics and mortality reports for operational meetings.
  • Providing secretarial support to clinicians, the matron and acute-care team.
Essential Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a high standard of accurate documentation.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Relevant IT qualifications.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and a willingness to develop own knowledge and skills.
Salary and Working Hours

Salary is advertised for full-time hours. For contracts less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro‑rata. New NHS entrants will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band. This vacancy may close before the closing date if sufficient applications are received.
