About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Admin Assistant to join our fantastic team at MEA Central.


This is a permanent post working 35 hours per week, all year round. This is a Grade 3 post with a starting salary of £25,185 per annum.


We’re looking for:



  • An Administrator who is self-motivated, flexible with an eye for detail and excellent time management.

  • You will need experience in general reception/clerical, administrative, and financial work.

  • You will need to be proficient with a range of ICT packages including Microsoft 365 and numeracy and literacy skills to NVQ L2 equivalent or higher.

  • You will receive visitors to the school and to communicate with courtesy and clarity to all staff, pupils, parents, carers, visitors, outside agencies and the wider community, including answering general telephone and face to face enquiries.

  • You will report to the School Administration Manager and provide comprehensive administrative and financial support to the school and Senior Leadership Team.

  • You will work collaboratively with all staff and parents in order to support pupil wellbeing.


This role requires the candidate to maintain and update all administrative and information systems and processes as needed.


You will also require tact and diplomacy and be able to forge excellent working relationships with the ability to relate well to both children and adults.


Key responsibilities will include:



  • Arrange meetings and events and take notes at meetings to a high standard

  • To assist with pupil first aid and welfare duties, including looking after sick pupils and liaising with parents and staff etc

  • To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person as soon as they arise

  • You will provide comprehensive administrative and financial support to the school and Senior Leadership Team. You will work collaboratively with all staff and parents in order to support pupil wellbeing.

  • To provide general clerical and administrative support, for example, photocopying, filing, faxing, completing standard forms and returns to the LA and outside agencies and responding to routine correspondence.

  • To maintain and update all administrative and information systems and processes as required, including retrieving and collating information to ensure deliver of a high level administrative service

  • To produce lists, information and data as required, for example, pupil data and to maintain and collate pupil reports

  • To collect and distribute incoming mail, despatch outgoing mail as appropriate

  • To undertake routine administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises
