Activities Coordinator – Immediate start in Whetstone – N20
  • £250.00 signing‑on bonus
  • £250.00 retention bonus (12 months service)

Ventry Care is recruiting an Activities Coordinator to our care home in Whetstone. We care for older persons, and older persons living with dementia.

The position will be from 10:00 to 15:00 or 16:00 Monday to Friday (approx 25 to 30 hours) and so may suit a person looking to fit employment around family life.

THE ROLE

Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will:

  • Assist in organising and participating in key events held throughout the year; the summer fete, seasonal celebrations, parties, charity events and so on.
  • Plan and deliver a varied activities programme, inside and outside the care home, from organised hobbies to group events, all of which will promote independence, choice and dignity for our residents.
  • Motivate and inspire our residents, getting to know them as individuals, their interests, their life stories, and their families.
  • Support resident and relative home meetings and participation forums.
  • Develop a resident newsletter at least every three months.
  • Creatively gain feedback from residents, their families and the staff team to ensure that the activities offered are relevant and meet the residents' needs and choices.

What We Need You To Have
  • Level 2 (QCF) Supporting Activities Provision in Social Care – beneficial but not essential.
  • Have experience working with older people and those living with dementia.
  • Have a caring and compassionate attitude.
  • Have an outgoing personality with a sensitive sense of humour.
  • Have the ability to lead and actively motivate volunteers.
  • Be able to encourage residents to take part in appropriate activities.
  • Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Be able to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Be able to make responsible choices and decisions, while acting in the residents best interests.
