  • Prepare financial reports and statements regularly.
  • Prepare salary sheet as per management instructions.
  • Assist in budget preparation and control.
  • Face internal and external audits as required.
Job description

RDRS (MRA Reg. No. 00143-175-00192) is a leading national development organization in Bangladesh that works for the poor and underprivileged communities across the country, focusing on northwest Bangladesh. Established in 1972 as the field program of the Lutheran World Federation, Geneva, RDRS became a national development organization in 1997 under the Trust Act. RDRS provides development services to over 3 million households in 34 districts through its five major program priorities — Skills, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Social Empowerment, Agriculture, Food Security & Climate Change, Microfinance, and Emergency and Humanitarian Response. Recently, RDRS Bangladesh is seeking applications for the position of Accounts Officer for its Microfinance Program.

Responsibilities
  • Preserve and maintain all accounts‑related documents & records properly at the branch level in a safe way;
  • Preserve the cheque books & cheque issue register of bank accounts operated by the Branch;
  • Arrange the payment against the bill approved by the competent authority and preserve vouchers & documents properly;
  • Maintain Cash Book, General Ledger, Subsidiary Ledger, and related documents as required using software;
  • Arrange to pay the advances (Motorcycle/ bicycle/ raincoat etc.) as approved by the respective authority and maintain documents as prescribed;
  • Prepare all the financial reports and statements regularly on a monthly/ quarterly basis and provide these to respective authorities within a timeframe;
  • Prepare salary sheet/ statement as per the management instruction;
  • Assist management to prepare the budget and operational plan also to control the budget limit;
  • Face the internal and external audit as needed;
  • Fulfill such other functions as may be assigned to him/ her by the higher authority.
