The Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in practice and gain hands-on experience working with a diverse portfolio of clients. Experience using Xero and QuickBooks is essential, as many of our clients rely on these platforms for their bookkeeping and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping and data entry for a portfolio of clients using Xero and QuickBooks
  • Preparing VAT returns and submitting them via MTD
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts
  • Bank reconciliations and review of client records for accuracy
  • Liaising directly with clients to request information and answer queries
  • General support to accountants and senior staff as needed
  • Payroll
Requirements
  • Experience working in an accountancy practice (preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks is essential
  • Familiarity with VAT and basic tax principles
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations
  • AAT qualified or studying (or equivalent experience)
