Job Type: Temporary Part-time (Maternity Cover)

Part Time: 22 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Hours of work: 3 days per week inclusive of Friday’s (8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 – 3.30pm on Fridays)
Specific Location: Head Office, Ellesmere Port
Benefits Include: Competitive Salary, a minimum of 25 days Holiday Per Annum plus Bank Holidays, Company Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.

Are you a detail-focused and reliable finance professional looking for a part-time role within the UK’s thriving homebuilding industry? Elan Homes – a leading, privately-owned housebuilder renowned for creating exceptional homes across the Midlands, North West, South West England, and North Wales – is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Team on a 3-day per week basis, including Fridays.

Reporting directly to the Purchase Ledger Manager, this hands‑on role will provide essential support across purchase ledger activities and general accounts administration.

Your Role

Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
    • Matching supplier invoices to delivery notes.
    • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
    • Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally.
  • Carrying out general office duties for the Accounts function, including filing, scanning, and photocopying.
  • Supporting the wider Finance Team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts or purchase ledger role.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good computer literacy and confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft applications.
  • A flexible, team-player approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A methodical, honest, reliable, and trustworthy work ethic.
  • The ability to work in a confident and professional manner.
