Job summary

A national opticians and hearing care business in Birmingham is looking for a candidate to support the management accounting team. You will be responsible for various tasks such as posting management accounting journals and reconciling bank accounts. Ideal candidates should have at least two years of experience in accounts, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Job description

Your role will be to provide support in preparation of the management accounts based at Head Office. You will assist the management accounting team in meeting the period end activities to ensure management accounting journals are processed as per the pre-defined schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the timely posting of periodic management accounting journals
  • Reconcile, review and post monthly utilities costs journals
  • Post utilities and other overheads direct debit payments to reconcile the bank
  • Reconciliation and payments posting of the assigned bank accounts
  • Prepare and post hearing aid audiologist commission journals
  • Assist in periodic balance sheet accounts reconciliations
  • Assist in maintaining the assets register and calculations of depreciations as per the applicable schedules
  • Preparing and posting various journals as allocated by the supervisor
  • Adhering to the strict predefined schedules of the management accounting department
  • Provide cover during other finance staff absence
  • Ensuring adherence to the Company’s procedures and financial compliance
  • Assist the Management Accountant in other ad hoc responsibilities as required

The successful applicant will have to have a minimum of two years in accounts, excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to deal with high volumes and good use of Microsoft packages, namely Word and Excel.
