Job description

Overview

As our Accounting Generalist (f / m / d), you will support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Financial Closing. Beyond ensuring smooth financial operations, you will play a key role in driving process improvements and advancing system developments in NetSuite. This position calls for a highly adaptable individual who is eager to learn new processes and actively contribute to shaping and enhancing them.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounts payable process by validating, coding, and posting vendor invoices, and handling all requests in the AP inbox.
  • Process employee expense reports using Spendesk.
  • Manage the accounts receivable process by issuing client invoices, preparing credit notes, resolving customer inquiries, and handling the AR inbox.
  • Perform dunning runs and improve processes for managing and resolving overdue payments.
  • Support the month‑end close by preparing AP‑ and AR‑related journal entries (prepaids, accruals, tax on prepayments, revenue deferrals).
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations.
  • Support the annual financial audit.
Qualifications
  • Completed commercial training in accounting or an equivalent qualification, with several years of experience in a similar position.
  • Further education as a Financial Accountant (Finanzbuchhalter) is required; certification as a Chartered Financial Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of German statutory GAAP (HGB); IFRS / US GAAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of German VAT regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a structured working style.
  • Very good working knowledge of NetSuite; experience with other ERP systems and software is a strong plus.
  • A strong team focus and the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues are mandatory for this role.
  • A high level of flexibility to work across a range of tasks, along with a strong willingness to develop new processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, is essential.
  • Excellent German skills (minimum C1) and good English proficiency are required, as English is the primary company language.
