Job description

We’re looking for an Accounting & Finance Apprentice to join our team here in Bradford (BD4)

Our Finance Apprenticeship roles will suit an individual with an interest in a career in finance and who wishes to pursue a professional Accountancy Qualification through an apprenticeship. Our apprenticeships are designed for people starting out in finance, to those with some experience and are a great starting place to become senior finance leaders.

You’ll be working as an Accountant within our Shared Service Centre. The Shared Service team is based in Bradford, which in addition to Finance also includes Claims, Finance Systems, Payment Operations and Employee Services to Liberty Global.

In short, it’s an ideal place for you to build the skills, knowledge and expertise you need to build your career.

Through formal training and development as well as the breadth of experience you gain on the job, you will be able to develop a wide range of skills including :

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll also have achieved your professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA or CIMA.). This will be a great kick start to your accounting career! 

We’re looking for people who are serious about learning and growing, particularly within a Finance environment, and who can take a logical, methodical and proactive approach to work.  We will ensure that you receive the necessary training to make you well rounded finance professionals by the end of your apprenticeship. What will you be doing?
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  • Month end accounting for Liberty Global Central including preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Data processing e.g. raising invoices or performing daily bank reconciliations
  • SOX compliance
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects

We tend to look for people with :

Essential
  • Part qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA etc.) or a graduate (2.1 or above) who is keen to embark on an accounting qualification.
  • You will need previous experience within a finance / accounting environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable
  • Past experience of working in a finance function is an advantage but not essential.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and drive the resolution of errors or issues
  • Self-motivated, well organized, able to prioritize and plan effectively, anticipate issues and solve problem.

This role will be based out of our Bradford office (BD4) we encourage candidates to apply that are within a commutable distance, you will be expected to work in the office on a hybrid basis, typically 2-3 days per week.
