Role Overview: As an Accounting Analyst you will be responsible for a number of legal entities within the region. You will review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations, and apply these to the preparation of trial balances, income, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements. You will also monitor and develop monthly reports of revenue and expenditure for projects, and serve as the main point of contact for accounting queries from various internal functions and external stakeholders.

This position is based in Cambridge and is a hub‑hybrid role with the expectation of 1–2 days per week in the Illumina Centre office. The role is a 1‑year fixed‑term contract.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly management accounts.
  • Manage and oversee the external audit process and external financial reporting.
  • Provide accurate records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report transactions in accordance with company policy.
  • Interpret reports and records for managers and stakeholders.
  • Apply advanced financial knowledge to solve complex problems and provide effective solutions.
  • Direct the application of existing principles and guide the development of new policies and ideas.
  • Adapt communication style to differing audiences and advise others on complex matters related to the wider business.
  • Train and mentor junior staff as needed.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
Experience & Education
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience developing and maintaining accounting systems, including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue recognition.
  • Background in practice or industry/commercial settings is preferred.
