Account Manager

Exeter – Hybrid (1 day onsite)

£33k + commission (c£48k OTE)

Ark is recruiting on behalf of an industry leading SaaS business with a strong UK presence and a loyal customer base. The company is known for its supportive culture, strong internal progression, and focus on delivering long‑term value to clients through innovative digital solutions.

They are now looking for a commercially minded Account Manager to join their growing team, focused on customer retention, upselling, and relationship management across a varied portfolio.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing existing customer relationships, identifying revenue opportunities, and ensuring successful renewals. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs, recommend product enhancements, and drive incremental growth.

This is a relationship‑led, consultative role suited to someone who enjoys nurturing accounts, solving customer challenges, and working cross‑functionally to deliver the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and drive upsell opportunities, validating customer needs and shaping appropriate product solutions.
  • Identify and hand over complex cross‑sell opportunities to senior sales colleagues when required.
  • Own and close customer renewals, ensuring high retention and on‑time completion across your territory.
  • Support broader growth strategies in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the product suite and engage specialists when deeper technical input is needed.
  • Build trusted relationships by understanding customer segments, business drivers, and goals.
  • Act as the primary contact for renewal‑related escalations and retention concerns.
  • Use CRM workflows and sales tools to manage pipeline, prioritise activities, and progress deals efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, forecasts, renewals, and opportunities within the CRM.
  • Consistently achieve activity targets and contribute to retention and upsell growth.

About You

You’ll be a proactive, results‑driven individual with experience in :

  • 2+ years in Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, or Renewals
  • Managing customer relationships in a SaaS or technology environment (ideal but not essential)
  • Using CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Working in virtual‑selling environments (phone, video, email)
  • Understanding or adapting to new digital products quickly
  • Using AI tools or automation platforms (beneficial but not essential)
