IPU Team Lead

Salary: Equivalent to AFC Band 7 – £48,788-£56,747

Work pattern – 37.5 hours over 5 days (this is negotiable)

An imminent retirement has provided us with this rare and exciting opportunity in the form of a Team Lead role within our 8 bedded Inpatient Unit. We are looking for a motivated and resilient individual to lead our resolute nursing team, to maintain remarkably high standards and empower the team to meet the ever-changing needs of palliative care.

Main duties of role
  • Provide Clinical Leadership to the IPU team, ensuring a maintenance of high-quality patient care.
  • Promote and maintain an atmosphere which reflects the hospice core values and behaviours.
  • Promote a culture of learning, enquiry, and continuous improvement, acting as a resource for all.

  • Essential
  • Able to demonstrate that your values align with those of the organisation
  • Current NMC registration as a registered adult/general nurse
  • Palliative Care experience
  • Management / Leadership experience for 3-4 years
  • Degree level education in a relevant discipline
  • Multi-Professional Team-working
  • Understanding of current National Palliative Care agenda
  • Knowledge & experience of Palliative Care pain & symptom management
  • Wide range of clinical skills – assessment, planning, evaluation, holistic care
  • Well-developed IT skills
  • Knowledge / experience regarding the components set out in the attached job description
  • Desirable
  • Hospice experience, or an understanding
  • Degree/ Post Grad Diploma / Masters in Palliative Care
  • Experience with ‘Trak care’ Electronic Patient Record system
