Academic Mentor - Primary (KS1 & KS2) Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting children to grow academically, socially, and emotionally? We are seeking a warm, committed, and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join our friendly primary school team. This role begins as soon as possible and involves supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

About the Academic Mentor Role

As a Academic Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to overcome barriers to learning. You will support their emotional wellbeing, promote positive behaviour, and help them develop confidence, resilience, and motivation.

Key Responsibilities of an Academic Mentor
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with learning, social, or emotional needs
  • Liaise with third parties and keep records of individual student case files
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage positive behaviour and self-confidence
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide targeted support

  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Adapt flexibly to the changing needs of pupils and the school day
