Overview

7.5 TONNE DELIVERY DRIVERS WANTED

Steer Staffing are currently recruiting for 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers, to join a distribution and delivery company based in Wednesbury. You will be delivering customers orders to their houses and office sites, working with a Driver's Mate to support you on all deliveries and route plans are put together for your daily, along with your vehicle being loaded with the products.

The shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off, the days will be on a rota basis, with two 30-minute breaks, morning, and afternoon. A DBS check will be required for this role.

There is a requirement for a valid driving role and compliance with the duties outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
• Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
• Installing a range of various products for our customers
• Making every customer encounter memorable. You will need to love driving and being on the road, but you will also need to love helping customers
• Following a delivery route
• Pre calling customers before arrival
• Filling in paperwork as and when required
• Removing all packaging from each delivery

Qualifications

• Experience within a similar role
• New passes are accepted
• A full Class C1 UK/EA licence with no more than six penalty points
• CPC card (and ideally) Tachograph card
• A passion for delivering great customer service
• The ability to handle heavy goods
• A clean DBS

Hours and Salary

The hours of work are 5 days on 3 days off, the working days cover any 5 over Monday - Sunday. You must be available to work between the hours of 6.45am - 6.15pm; if the deliveries are completed early, you will finish early.

The salary for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver will be £13.60 per hour / £35,360 per annum depending on the hours worked.
