Sports Facility Assistant

New College Durham is seeking a Sports Facility Assistant to support the Sports Facilities Manager in maintaining and operating the Sports Complex facilities. The role involves ensuring a safe and appropriate environment for all sport and gym users and members, delivering gym and 3G pitch inductions, providing fitness and wellness advice, and supervising the maintenance of all equipment to ensure its optimum use. The position requires evening and weekend work and is a 0.5 FTE role to cover the necessary shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Sports Facilities Manager with day‑to‑day operations of the Sports Complex.
  • Deliver gym and 3G pitch induction sessions to clients, providing fitness and wellbeing advice.
  • Ensure users safety across all facilities and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep the Sports Facilities Manager, Curriculum Manager and Head of School informed of relevant developments in the industry.
  • Supervise the maintenance of all equipment and ensure its optimum use.
