Job summary

A healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to undertake pharmaceutical technical tasks on a rotational basis. You will be part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality services in NHS Lanarkshire hospitals. The ideal candidate must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and possess relevant pharmaceutical qualifications. The Role

To undertake pharmaceutical technical tasks within a designated area, on a rotational basis, using Standard Operating Procedures laid down by the relevant Senior Pharmacy Technician to maintain a high quality pharmaceutical service to NHS Lanarkshire hospitals.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Diploma/SQA National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent to enable registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Undertake revalidation required by General Pharmaceutical Council and maintain a portfolio of personal and professional development.
It would be great if you also have
  • National certificate in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent
  • SVQ3
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Continuing professional development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Carry out training on aseptic and cytotoxic drug reconstruction/manipulations
  • Experience in dispensing discharge, OPD and in-patient prescriptions
  • Experience in providing a ward or department stock top up
  • Understanding of hospital pharmacy services
  • Computer skills
  • Keyboard skills
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Team player
