Overview

Are you interested in Pelvic Health? Would you be keen to work in this speciality for a fixed period of time, to cover maternity leave, to enhance your knowledge and skills in this area of physiotherapy? If so please continue to read.

You would be required to carry out assessment and treatment of patients in an outpatient setting, determine a clinical diagnosis, develop, deliver, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes and/or provide specialist advice, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication.

You would be working autonomously and managing your caseload and clinics on a weekly basis. The main source of your referrals would be from Obstetric & Gynaecology service.

This is a fixed term post for 9 months - From start date to no later than 31/05/2026.

The follow up of patients post prostatectomy from Edinburgh would also be within your remit. These referrals would be required to be triaged electronically for Pelvic Health, including urgency, locality and appropriateness of referral.

You would also be required to discuss patients on the waiting lists who may be appropriate for surgical intervention.

Supervision would be available from existing part time Highly Specialist Physiotherapists who work in this area within NHS D&G.
