Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Barnsley is seeking an Administrator to offer administrative support for their assistive technology team. Thisis a great opportunity to join a nationally recognised assistive technologyteam and, through excellent administrative provision, to support the team tomaintain and improve its excellence in provision of specialised assistivetechnology.

BarnsleyAssistive Technology delivers specialised services for Augmentative andAlternative Communication and Environmental Control across Yorkshire and theHumber. The team is directly commissioned by NHS England to deliver these twospecialised services. The team has an excellent national and internationalreputation for quality, innovation and research and development and has stronglinks with the University of Sheffield.

We are looking to recruit an Administratorto provide admin support across our busy team. We are particularly looking forsomeone who has considerable experience of providing wide ranging types of administrativesupport, knowledge and experience of assistive technology, and of working with disabledpeople.

Asthe first point of contact for many of our clients, some of whom experiencecommunication difficulties, you will play a key role in handling enquiries fromboth clients and their relatives. Additional responsibilities includemaintaining and updating the teams database, handling procurement tasks, liasingwith contractors and managing stock levels.

Main duties of the job

As a varied role, you must be self-motivated, be able to work independently and have experience of priotising high workloads effectively. You will be required to work flexibly across teams to meet the demands of the service, where your ability to build strong relationships will be vital.

Manageand enter data for all client related work into the team information system/database ensuring accurate records and according to standard procedures.

Processclient referral forms according to standard procedures including checking thedata, contacting the referrer and entering data accurately.

Co-ordinate and liaise with the internal team,suppliers and contractors around installation, amendments or delivery ofequipment, ensuring all relevant paperwork is received.

Manage the office and equipment supplies, including the orderingof items, logging orders, accurately updating the database and maintenance ofstock levels.

Use the procurement system to enterorders accurately. Follow up orders to establish their status.

Experience

Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level including English and Mathematics

  • Good Knowledge of IT systems.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good knowledge of information governance and data security.
  • Understanding of what assistive technology is and what the Barnsley AT team do.
