Overview

Payroll Coordinator - 6-Month FTC

Location: York (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home)

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE

We're looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join a supportive and friendly payroll team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where operational excellence and people are at the heart of what we do.

What you’ll be doing
  • Processing monthly payroll for multiple companies, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
  • Managing PAYE/NI payments, reconciliations, and HMRC submissions (RTI).
  • Handling starters, leavers, and compliance with all payroll documentation.
  • Administering expense claims in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Producing P11Ds and P60s within set deadlines.
  • Ensuring auto-enrolment compliance for all staff.
  • Managing payroll queries from employees and HMRC.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with wider payroll strategy and objectives.
About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of HMRC regulations and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and payroll software.
  • Experience with Dayforce (advantageous, but not essential).
  • A professional payroll qualification (e.g. Certificate in Payroll Administration, Payroll Technician Certificate, or Diploma in Payroll Management) would be desirable but not essential.
