Overview

Are you a dedicated Tutor with a passion for making a difference? We're currently recruiting for an experienced 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in Tameside—ideally with experience working in a SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting.

We're committed to improving the lives of young people through personalised, high-quality education. Our Children's Education Team works in partnership with local authorities across the North West, providing tailored learning support to pupils who are currently outside of mainstream education.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivering 1:1 tuition in core subjects including Maths, English, and Science
  • Supporting vulnerable pupils in the community or their home environment
  • Designing and delivering bespoke learning plans based on individual needs
  • Adopting a therapeutic and patient approach to help re-engage students in education
  • Reporting on progress through weekly updates, supported by our dedicated team
What We\'re Looking For
  • QTS or relevant tutoring experience
  • Ability to deliver structured, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach—particularly when supporting pupils with SEN
  • Experience within SEN environments is preferred, but not essential
Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
  • Two professional references (covering the last two years)
Contract Details
  • Position: 1:1 Tutor
  • Location: Tameside (in-home or community-based sessions)
  • Hours: Between 8am-4pm* (flexible sessions, 1-4 hours daily or weekly)
  • Type of Work: Contract, part-time, with ongoing support

*While most tuition takes place during school hours, there may be occasional after-school or early evening sessions available.
