Job summary

Omega Tutoring is looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Chatham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students aged 5‑16 years old, largely disengaged and often not on a school roll.
• Deliver 3 hours per day, 5 days per week of English and Maths focused sessions (flexible on a per-student basis).
• Sessions will take place at the student's home or local library.
• Students may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties and are likely below age‑related expectations.
• Opportunity to take on additional cases to increase hours.

Contract Details

• Location: Chatham
• Position: 1:1 Tutor – tuition
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract type: Temporary (ongoing)
• Hours: Part‑time, Monday‑Friday, various hours
• Pay: £20 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS preferred (not essential if you have relevant experience).
• Minimum of degree level.
• Experience working with students with SEN.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• Positive attitude and desire.
• Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child‑related references.
