A global cruise company is seeking a Senior Superintendent, Machinery to oversee project supervision and provide guidance on machinery standards. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and coordinating with various stakeholders in the shipbuilding process. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in Marine Operations, excellent communication skills, and a background in mechanical engineering, developing efficient solutions for ongoing and future projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Marine Operations.
  • Experience with shipbuilding and site surveys.
  • Ability to work under tight schedules with multiple projects.

Position Summary

The Senior Superintendent, Machinery is responsible for coordinating and updating guidelines for machinery. Provides substantial input to specific company projects and delivers project supervision with in‑house sources, site offices, architects and other consultants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follows and applies development in technology of above mentioned areas
  • Follows and applies emission control technology
  • Develops Energy Saving and System's performance
  • Develops optimised life cycle costs (LCC) procedure
  • Meets with potential makers and systems designers
  • Applies relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new technology
  • Establishes studies and recommendations in equipment and design solutions for the various projects
  • Ensure that all innovations and lessons learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future NB projects
  • Establishes advanced reports on each area
  • Participates in NB drawings, including makers and design approval process
  • Participate approval process for factory acceptance test (FAT)
  • Participate approval process for quay and sea trial procedures
  • Daily inspections and patrolling onboard, evaluating the quality and execution process
  • Focused on safety processes on board linked to daily yard activities
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and commissioning results, contributing to monthly construction status reports
  • Able to participate and lead inspections of equipment’s at supplier premises in France and abroad during the building process.
Qualifications

Extensive experience of shipbuilding and from new building site surveys, especially from the own field of expertise. Ability to work under tight schedules and with multiple projects

Motivated to work ashore and in multicultural working environment

Knowledge and Skills
  • Adequate education, Chier Engineer, Mechanical Eng. or similar, and minimum 5 years experience in Marine Operations
  • Excellent written & verbal English, other languages an advantage
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with remote based colleagues.
  • Excellent drawing skills
  • Relevant computer skills (excel, AutoCAD)
