Overview
The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair the Security devices systems. The Security Devices Service Technician will assist with repairing and calibrating systems and replacing various components. You will diagnose problems and offer alternative solutions. You will be responsible for security devices systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty, and emergency repairs. The ability to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition covering the Depot Workshop in Cairo Metro Line 3 stations.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Assist the security devices supervisors in carrying out all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications in the stations.
- Ensure the maintenance tools & equipment are in good condition.
- Survey buildings and repair systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
- Cleaning, adjusting and repairing security devices systems, and performing warranty services.
- Provide close supervision and leadership of subcontractors to ensure that they are following the PM plan without failures.
- Troubleshoot defective security devices systems and equipment to make diagnoses.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to the maintenance manual.
- Perform corrective maintenance, quickly tracking and resolving malfunctions.
- Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Deal with the software for the baggage scanner devices, resolving faults and updating its software as required.
- Know the wiring diagram for the baggage scanner devices, diagnosing and resolving faults.
- Know spare parts of baggage scanners devices, their function, common faults, and how to install and dismantle them safely.
- Know all safety measures to prevent X-Rays from leaking outside the device and the precautions to follow if leakage occurs.
- Follow correct steps for X-Ray devices to operate and extend their lifetime.
- Keep daily logs and records of maintenance functions.
- Ensure compliance with appliance standards and Health and Safety regulations.
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed to respect environmental and safety rules, and alert Executive Maintenance of any environmental and safety issue.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work after hours when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
- Basic understanding of security devices and other systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
Knowledge
- General technical knowledge.
- EAM such as Maximo.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' work experience as a qualified electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical technician in maintaining and repairing depot equipment is highly preferable. DESIRED BEHAVIORS
- English - fluent in speaking, reading and Arabic is a must.
- Must have good eyesight and normal color vision.
- Strong mechanical mind, and ability to grasp the complexity of inner workings of rolling stock.
- Ability to use and calibrate various electrical, electronic and mechanical test equipment and PC.
- Ability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
