We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Due to planned leave and a review of roles, John Forrest Secondary College (SC) expects to have several fixed term contracts and possible permanent roles available in 2026. To be eligible for a permanent appointment applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, and fixed term appointments must hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

The Role

John Forrest SC has an effective and efficient team of allied professional staff and is seeking School Officers who would provide outstanding service to our College community. The School Officers at John Forrest SC work in collaboration with the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) and Business Support Officers (BSO) to provide support in all areas of the college’s operations, including :

  • administrative support for the executive and leadership teams, office reception, student services team and the workplace learning coordinator;
  • maintaining school databases, records and management information systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date;
  • ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive material;
  • using RM Billing and RM Finance to receipt payments of student contributions, fees and charges and process payment of invoices;
  • management of facilities, buildings, maintenance and faults;
  • customer facing roles such as assisting with enrolment enquiries, assisting prospective families, administration of media and marketing activities, and coordinating college events and activities; and
  • the administration and management of human resources of the school.

Suitable applicants should have attention to detail, accurate data entry, an ability to understand and implement procedures, a confident phone manner and a friendly and positive attitude to building positive relationships with our staff, students, families and community. Experience within a high school setting and with systems such as Microsoft Office, RM Billing, School Information System (SIS), Compass, Reporting to Parents, HRMIS and Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAM) would be highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
