An aeronautics solutions company in Toulouse is seeking a Runway Safety Specialist. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS) for non-Airbus aircraft, ensuring the timely production of deliverables. A Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering and strong analytical and technical skills are required. The role includes responsibilities such as generating performance databases and proposing new solutions tailored to aircraft specifications. Candidates must possess coding skills in Python and Matlab.

Job Description : Summary

The jobholder will act as Runway Safety Specialist, and will notably actively contribute to the development of ROAAS (Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System) function on non‑Airbus aircraft, from Specifications activities to certification demonstrations ensuring production of expected deliverables in due time, cost, and quality in line with NAVBLUE contractual commitments.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contributing to ROAAS development activities for a dedicated aircraft manufacturer
  • Generating ROAAS performance database and supporting material for its certification
  • Providing system logics and modeling to simulate landing distance performance computation and operational procedure for ROAAS on non‑Airbus development
  • Analysing current Airbus design and proposing new solutions adapted to non‑Airbus aircraft specificities
  • Proposing new ways of working and ensuring the performance of non‑Airbus activities by challenging and optimizing existing development (Airbus or Non Airbus)
  • Supporting ROAAS operators and ensuring technical support once solution is in service
  • Participating in meetings and reviews with Airbus engineering teams on ROPS & ROAAS development
Mid Term Evolution
  • Assessing latest ROPS development and certification demonstrations and checking applicability to non‑Airbus design to enrich specification to the highest level of maturity
  • Participating in Intellectual Property protection activities in coordination with relevant Airbus stakeholders (Intellectual Property, Legal, etc.)
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training
  • Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
Required Skills / Experience
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills
  • Technical: Modeling, Machine learning, Algorithm
  • Coding: Python, Matlab, Simulink, Git
  • Preferably 3 years of experience
  • A first experience in Aircraft Manufacturer or Avionic supplier (System and/or Aircraft Performance)
  • Recognised for agility and analysis skills for complex technical topics
  • Ability to travel internationally (3‑5 domestic and international travels per year)
