- work environment:

The mission of the MIVEGEC joint-research unit (Infectious Diseases and Vectors: Ecology, Genetics, Evolution, Control) is to understand maintenance, amplification and transmission of infectious agents and their genetic and non-genetic determinants through integrative and transdisciplinary research in order to better grasp the evolution of these infectious systems and improve control over them.

- main mission:

The main mission of the recruited individual will be to lead and coordinate the VECT-OH Initiative, and to contribute to the analysis and dissemination of data generated by the various research projects conducted by international partners.

- activities:

  • Oversee the administrative management of the VECT-OH Initiative (including preparation and coordination of field missions, scientific and financial reporting, recruitment), in collaboration with the administrative services of the University of Montpellier and the Research Support Office of the MIVEGEC research unit;
  • Ensure the scientific coordination of the VECT-OH Initiative: organize and facilitate partner meetings (both in-person and online), conduct scientific monitoring, and contribute to the development of project proposals in response to relevant calls for proposals;
  • Contribute to international training activities on the topic;
  • Participate in data collection activities, including fieldwork conducted in Montpellier and its metropolitan area;
  • Contribute to the analysis of data generated by the various projects – with priority given to analyzing the Californian dataset made available to the consortium.
