Missions of the job
Reporting directly to Regional Director EU, the Regional Technical Director, will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing technical strategies across the EU region. You will lead multidisciplinary technical teams (poultry, swine, and ruminants), foster innovation, and ensure technical excellence in alignment with business goals. Your work will directly support sales growth, customer satisfaction, and the development of a robust technical network.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide visionary technical leadership across Europe.
- Lead, mentor, and develop regional technical teams with a customer-centric mindset.
- Define and implement innovative technical strategies aligned with regional business objectives.
Technical Support & Development
- Ensure sales and marketing teams are equipped with strong technical knowledge to communicate product value.
- Develop and execute tailored technical action plans for customers and partners.
- Represent the company at industry events, presenting product-specific technical insights.
Networking & Influence
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), consultants, and industry influencers.
- Act as a guest speaker and author technical publications to enhance industry presence.
- Develop and expand external networks to strengthen regional technical influence.
Innovation & R&D Collaboration
- Serve as a key liaison between field operations and R&D, driving trials and adapting offerings to customer needs.
- Gather and communicate customer insights to R&D to align product development with market demands.
- Propose, implement, and oversee development trials for new specialties.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Strategic Business Units (SBUs), and Global Category Managers.
- Collaborate with HQ and regional teams to define and follow up on technical action plans.
Reporting & Communication
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and communication of trial results and technical activities.
Accountabilities
- Train internal and external stakeholders (sales, marketing, technical teams, distributors).
- Provide high-level technical services and support to customers and partners.
- Drive strategic technical initiatives to consolidate product positioning and customer value.
Internal & External Relationships
Internal
- HQ: Global Marketing, SBUs, Global Category Managers, Market Access, R&D, Labs, Global RTM Network.
- Regional: Area Managers, Sales Managers, Technical Advisors, Regional Category Managers, Technologists.
External
- Key Opinion Leaders, Global Key Accounts, Strategic Customers, Distributors, Agents.
Qualifications
Hard Skills
- Proven experience in:
- Animal feed industry (formulation, nutrition, technical management).
- Poultry and swine nutrition and husbandry.
- Animal physiology and health.
- Designing and executing animal nutrition trials.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, managing teams (at least 5 direct reports).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Soft Skills
- Strong intercultural communication.
- High adaptability in diverse environments.
Education
- Degree in Animal Nutrition, Agricultural Engineering, or Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
- PhD is a plus.
