Offer Description

Sorbonne Université is a multidisciplinary research university created on 1 January 2018 by the merger of the universities of Paris-Sorbonne and UPMC.

It offers courses to 55,300 students, including 4,400 doctoral students and 10,200 international students, and employs 6,700 teachers, lecturers and researchers and 4,900 library, administrative, technical, social and healthcare staff. Its budget is €675m.

Sorbonne Université has a first-rate potential, mainly located in the heart of Paris, and extends its presence to more than twenty sites in Île-de-France and the regions.

Sorbonne Université is organised into three faculties - Letters, Science & Engineering and Medicine - which have considerable autonomy to implement the university's strategy within their own boundaries, on the basis of a contract of objectives and resources. University governance focuses on promoting the university's strategy, steering its activities, developing partnerships and diversifying its resources.

The laboratory's areas of expertise include:

• The configuration of public debate and the challenges of political communication in a democracy;

• The circulation of writing and formats (media, journalistic) in discourse systems;

• The challenge of mediation, particularly commercial mediation, and the economic, social, and political drivers of the cultural, educational, and creative industries.

GRIPIC also stands out for its research methodologies, marked by the contributions of semiology and a focus on formats, frameworks of enunciation, writing, and semiotization processes. It deploys methods for understanding media and digital devices and the constitutive role of sociotechnical features in the circulation of texts and images on platforms and social networks.
