This post-doctoral position will be supported by the HE Trumpet project, the HE Flute project, and/or the PEPR IA Redeem project. While based in the MAGNET team in Lille, the position involves collaboration with several European project partners.
While AI techniques are becoming more powerful, concerns about potential risks and abuses are increasing. Research areas such as privacy-preserving machine learning, explainable machine learning, fairness, and data protection legislation are gaining importance.
Privacy-preserving machine learning aims to develop models from data without revealing the data itself, using notions like (local) differential privacy and its generalizations to limit information disclosure.
The MAGNET team is involved in the TRUMPET, FLUTE, and REDEEM projects, focusing on algorithms for secure, privacy-preserving federated learning, even with potentially malicious participants. The TRUMPET and FLUTE projects focus on oncology applications, while REDEEM has a broader scope.
The start and end dates of the position are negotiable, with the earliest start date being 1/5/2024 and the latest end date around 30/04/2026, with individual contracts lasting up to 2 years.
The post-doc will collaborate with colleagues in the MAGNET team and project consortia, contributing to open-source libraries if prototypes are developed. The role involves bringing new expertise, intensifying collaborations, and working closely with team members and engineers for prototyping and validation.
