Offer Description

The PhD student will take place inside LGP2 (Process Engineering Laboratory for Biorefinery, Bio-based Materials and Functional Printing) in Grenoble (Gières Campus) within the MatBio team (Multi-scale biobased materials). The LGP2 is a mixed research unit (UMR 5518) associating the CNRS and Grenoble INP, certified Quality Safety Environment. LGP2's research work focuses on operations for the converting and valorization of plant biomass such as the biorefinery and the development of biosourced materials (biopolymers, biocomposites, paper, cardboard, films, non-wovens) as well as on printing processes for the functionalization of surfaces for smart or communicative materials.

Description of the offer: Your main mission will be to oversee a research project funded by the European Union's Water4all program, in partnership with six industrial and academic organizations. This project, called VALORBIO, aims to manufacture packaging from PHA- type biopolymers produced within the consortium. Your role will involve developing and manufacturing films, nanocomposites, and coated materials using these PHAs. As such, you will manage the project, whether at the level of the experimental part with work on a laboratory and pilot scale, or at the level of project management
(meetings with multiple external or internal partners and editorial staff. report writing or the production of intermediate presentations).

The project concerns more particularly the development of high performance and sustainable packaging. Exchanges with European project partners could make it possible to test new strategies.
