This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of pools.

Responsibilities

• Places fences at special events; sets up stages, podiums, flags, and stairs.
• Mows grass, operates a weed eater, edges grass, and blows leaves.
• May order parts and supplies; may transport parts and equipment to work sites; may maintain tools and equipment.
• Drive city vehicles for deliveries/transporting.
• Responsible for recording and maintaining chemical balance in pools.
• Performs janitorial duties as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in park maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of the techniques used in the maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Skill in problem solving and decision making.
• Skill in the operation of hand and power tools.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, walking, or stooping. The work is typically performed throughout the facility. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, and irritating chemicals. Work may be performed outdoors where the employee may be exposed to cold or inclement weather.
