A leading marine consultancy in Paris is looking for a specialist to support offshore marine operations. The role involves conducting quality control on OVID inspection reports and offering technical marine consultancy. Candidates need 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years as Master or Chief Engineer on offshore support vessels. This full-time position allows for partial remote work and periodic travel to Africa.

Qualifications

d2m Services is seeking a specialist to support offshore marine operations within the global marine department of a prominent O&G company.

Objectives and deliverables

You will offer technical support in the realm of marine assurance for a variety of vessel types engaged in the company’s offshore undertakings, which include:

  • Logistics vessels, drilling rigs, diving support vessels, floatels, and construction vessels.

Key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting quality control of OVID inspection reports commissioned by the company, ensuring adherence to OCIMF quality standards.
  • Assessing close-out proposals submitted by vessel technical operators in OVID reports and compiling recommendations for vetting decisions.
  • Offering ad-hoc marine consultancy, including technical analyses for vessel selection.
  • Proficient in the English language, possessing exceptional written communication and reporting abilities.
  • Current or prior certification as a Merchant Marine Master or Chief Engineer (unlimited tonnage/power).
  • OVID accreditation (either current or previously held).
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, which must include a minimum of 5 years serving as Master or Chief Engineer on sophisticated offshore support vessels (such as diving support or construction vessels).
Dates and Duration
  • Start Date: asap
  • Duration: 12 months (subject to renewal)
Location
  • Paris, France (on-site) - Partial remote could be considered
  • Periodic travel (approximately once per quarter) to Congo, Nigeria, and Angola.
