Role Overview
The Director of Sales, Large Molecule – Europe will be responsible for driving revenue growth across biologics CDMO services, including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and related large-molecule modalities. This role will lead European sales execution, manage key accounts, and develop new client relationships across biotech and pharmaceutical sponsors.
The position requires a commercially driven leader with strong technical credibility who can translate complex Biologics CMC and manufacturing capabilities into compelling value propositions for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Execute the European sales strategy for large-molecule CDMO services in alignment with corporate growth objectives.
- Drive new business acquisition across development, clinical, and commercial biologics programs.
- Manage and grow a robust sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent deal progression.
Client & Account Management
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with biotech and pharmaceutical clients across Europe.
- Serve as a trusted commercial partner to clients, supporting outsourcing decisions related to CMC, development, and manufacturing.
- Lead strategic account planning to expand scope of services and long-term partnerships.
Deal Execution & Contracting
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for proposals, SOWs, MSAs, and commercial supply agreements.
- Coordinate closely with Legal, Finance, and Technical teams to structure executable and competitive deals.
- Ensure smooth handoff of awarded projects to technical and operational teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary commercial interface between clients and internal teams, including MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Project Management.
- Translate technical and CMC considerations into clear, client-focused commercial solutions.
- Support marketing initiatives, conferences, and client-facing presentations as needed.
Team Leadership (if applicable)
- Mentor and support regional sales managers or business development professionals.
- Promote a performance-driven, collaborative sales culture.
- Contribute to talent development and sales process optimization.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in sales or business development within a CDMO, biologics, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of large-molecule biologics, including monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth in the European market.
- Solid understanding of Biologics CMC, manufacturing, and analytical services.
- Experience negotiating complex development and commercial manufacturing agreements.
- Ability to engage credibly with scientific, technical, and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
