A global law firm in Paris seeks a Business Development specialist to support BD strategies for Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations. Key responsibilities include enhancing market reputation, developing client relationships, and contributing to BD initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong business development experience, excellent communication skills in French and English, and a relevant Master’s degree. Your role will be to support the execution of Business Development (BD) strategies aimed at driving growth for the Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations (LAI) practice , ensuring these are aligned with the firm’s overarching strategy, as well as Client and Sector priorities. You will draw on insights and data-led intelligence to identify and pursue opportunities, enable cross-practice and cross-border collaboration, support the development of strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of high-impact, client-focused BD activity.
The focus of your role will primarily be on supporting the LAI practice in France, while also contributing to regional and global efforts as required, under the direction of the Global BD Leads the Country Manager BD Leads.
Your key areas of responsibility will include:

You will play an integral part in ensuring the firm’s LAI BD initiatives are delivered to a high standard, coordinated with global priorities, and designed to meet the evolving needs of clients and the firm’s strategic growth objectives.
Provide support in driving growth across LAI by assisting in BD plan development, implementation and execution in alignment with global and regional LAI priorities.
between local office strategies and the broader network, reinforcing Support and prepare for discussions with key internal stakeholders across practice, sector and business teams to gather information and insights that contribute to the development of BD strategies.
Participate in building and maintaining relationships and connectivity across the broader BDM function, including Clients & Sectors teams, to help drive growth in priority sectors and related market opportunities.
Support the execution of focused LAI, sector and client growth plans by sharing relevant intelligence and facilitating cross-practice opportunities within the global firm.
Collaborate with global and regional LAI BD teams to ensure alignment a consistent, firm-wide approach.
Assist in the identification and use of data-driven insights for horizon scanning, market developments, opportunity spotting and pipeline management within LAI.
Collaborate with Enterprise Client programme teams to raise the visibility and engagement of LAI in global key client initiatives and support relationship development strategies.
Support the development of client account strategies for key LAI clients by attending account meetings, contributing insights and following up on action items.
Partner with Marketing teams to design and implement strategically aligned client touchpoints (e.g. meetings, events, insights) to deepen client engagement.
Raise awareness among lawyers of opportunities to participate in the firm’s PE-related client programmes and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
Provide support to CRM activity by sharing client insights, tracking interactions and identifying engagement opportunities.
Assist lawyers with the delivery of ad hoc client meetings by preparing tailored briefing packs, gathering relevant intelligence, and coordinating with Marketing where appropriate.
Contribute to the development of high-quality, market-leading pitch materials for LAI mandates, working closely with the Strategic Pitch team and BD colleagues.
Support the preparation of pitch meetings by developing tailored documentation, ensuring alignment with client needs and firm capabilities.
Help partners with post-pitch follow-up, including drafting supplementary documents, tracking outcomes, capturing feedback and updating pitch data systems.
Assist with drafting and refining panel submissions and RFP responses, including curating relevant experience, credentials, and case studies for LAI opportunities.
Support lawyers and BD teams in responding to emerging LAI market trends or client needs by creating bespoke materials and engaging cross-practice teams as required.
Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and Sector teams to tailor responses to centrally-driven or ad hoc opportunity-generating initiatives.
Support the preparation of high-quality, strategically aligned legal directory submissions for LAI, working with lawyers to gather and draft content.
Identify and recommend suitable entries for legal directories, awards, and league tables to elevate the firm’s profile in the LAI space.
Coordinate and prepare submissions for relevant award nominations, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the firm’s positioning.
Help manage and submit League Table data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of LAI deal reporting.
Ensure internal and client-facing collateral for LAI (e.g. brochures, flyers, capability statements) is accurate, up to date, and client-focused.
Coordinate with shared services and knowledge teams to maintain updated credentials and marketing materials in line with best practice.
Support Marketing in delivering events and campaigns related to LAI, ensuring they adhere to firm protocols and are strategically aligned.
Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders seeking PE-related BDM content, resources, and guidance.
Effectively use MarTech platforms (e.g. Salesforce) and BD tools to gather insights, support targeting and maintain data integrity.
Support lawyers and BDM colleagues in leveraging tools for pitching, client development and campaign execution.
Explore and apply firm-approved AI tools and other technologies to drive BD efficiencies and insights.
Adhere to all firm policies regarding the use of data, tools, and systems in support of BD activities.
Proactively develop subject matter knowledge in LAI, including sector trends, client priorities and competitive positioning.
Attend training and stay updated on BD tools, internal processes, and firm systems to support continuous improvement.
Regularly reflect on and improve your own BD delivery capabilities to better support lawyers and stakeholders.
Build strong working relationships with LAI BD colleagues globally and across related sector and client teams.
Collaborate effectively across the BDM function to share insights, drive consistency and support high-quality execution.
Communicate clearly and constructively with stakeholders, escalating issues or proposing improvements where appropriate.
Be adaptable and responsive to the evolving needs of the LAI group, contributing flexibly to a broad range of BD initiatives.

Business development experience in LAI or similar legal fields.

Master’s degree (or equivalent). Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least 5 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
