As the Buyer for designer brands you will be responsible for curating the assortment of brands that The Frankie Shops offers to its consumers – sourcing new brands and products, carefully planning the best assortment and ensuring a smooth and timely delivery across regions.
Reporting to the Buying and Planning Director you will contribute to create a cohesive and seamless product offer towards our global customer.
🎯 Main responsibilities :
Brand & product curation
- Identify and source in a proactive manner new independent brands that align with The Frankie Shop’s DNA, with a focus on uniqueness, relevance, and commercial potential
- Identify key product categories or segments that could complement our in-house product ranges whether in style, price or function and help select the most relevant pieces for our multi‑channel DTC model (online & stores)
- Manage dynamically the brands portfolio and make recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales potential and ensure the right balance in assortment and newness
- Work closely with merchandising, retail, e‑commerce, and creative teams to align product selections with broader commercial and brand strategies
Merchandise Planning & Buying
- Scope seasonal budget targets, collaborating closely with the Finance and Buying teams
- Conduct in‑depth analysis and make buying recommendations
- Responsible for the ordering process
- Based on the delivery schedule and in collaboration with the Planning team, ensure the timely availability and launch of goods to drive sales and optimize stock
- Monitor weekly trade performance providing insightful analysis and recommendations for trading actions across regions or potential re‑ordering opportunities
- Manage markdown and promotional activities for current and old season inventory to optimize stock positions while adhering to margin targets
Operational management
- Negotiation & Terms Management : Negotiate pricing, payment terms, margins, and delivery conditions to ensure commercial viability and strong vendor relationships.
- Logistics Coordination : Oversee the supply chain process from order confirmation to final delivery, ensuring timely shipments and stock availability.
- Accounting & Invoicing Follow‑up : Liaise with internal teams and vendors to ensure accurate billing and smooth financial reconciliation.
- Product information : gathering product information from partner brands, creating the references in our internal database and communicating accurate information to internal Sales, Ecom and Marketing teams
- Support the Retail & Marketing department with trainings or activations
✅ What we are looking for
- Proven experience in buying, merchandising, or brand curation, ideally within a fashion or multi‑brand retail environment.
- Strong brand sensibility aligned with The Frankie Shop’s aesthetic and values.
- Excellent analytical skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable buying strategies.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets and knowledge of buying or ERP systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English
