What’s the opportunity?
We are seeking a commercial legal counsel to work with our contracts team and support the broader business with various legal and commercial matters.
What will I be doing?
- Providing legal advice on contractual matters for Group entities worldwide.
- Engaging in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with exposure to senior stakeholders, focusing on:
- Drafting, analyzing, and negotiating commercial agreements, engagement letters, services agreements, NDAs, novation agreements, guarantees, loans, derivatives agreements, shareholders agreements, and other operational documents.
- Collaborating with legal team members globally and working with senior colleagues and leaders on strategic projects, regulatory issues, product and business development, and operational matters.
- Creating and advising on templates, policies, and procedures to meet new legal requirements.
- Drafting, reviewing, completing, and filing legal documents related to business operations.
What skills do I need?
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, preferably at a major law firm or in-house within Financial Services or M&A sectors.
- Strong background in commercial, contractual, and corporate law.
- Knowledge of payments, financial services, or fintech is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Business-oriented mindset with collaborative skills.
- Tech-savvy with familiarity in digital legal tools and platforms.
- Proactive in identifying legal and business issues.
- Ability to apply law creatively and pragmatically to business challenges.
- Analytical with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working under pressure and quickly assimilating information.
- Creative problem-solver, calm under challenging circumstances.
