About British Council - Spain
British Council Spain operates a network of teaching centers throughout the country, delivering English teaching to some 30,000 students every year. In addition to teaching students directly, we operate the British Council’s only school, in Madrid, a sizeable exams operation, we offer support in English language learning around the country, and we run strong programs in arts and education and society.
The Madrid Teaching Center offers courses to the general public between 8 am and 10 pm, and there are currently around 100 teachers. We deliver approximately 46500 class hours per year through onsite classes to students between 5 and 85 years old, plus an additional 9500 class hours through partner organizations, such as schools and kindergartens, and to corporate clients including government ministries, banks, and higher educational institutions.

Nationality requirements : Applicants must be EU nationals or have the right to work in Spain
Working Schedule :
Typical teaching slots are : weekday lunchtime, afternoon and evening classes, and Saturday morning and afternoon classes. Days off : Sunday plus another day of the week off, eg Friday.Some adult classes involve early morning starts.
Increasingly our young learner teaching takes place in schools, so travel is often required. Corporate classes usually take place off our premises.
Teachers may be expected to work in more than one British Council center. They are also likely to work in more than one location, e.g. British Council Centre and a partner institution.
