A leading technology firm is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide pre-sales support and technical demonstrations for their products. The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and at least 4 years of pre-sales experience. Fluency in English and strong knowledge of Layer 3 to 7 protocols are essential. The role involves working closely with clients, developing sales plans, and supporting customer technical needs while potentially traveling within Europe and to the US for business.

Systems Engineers

Act in a pre‑sales role promoting A10 products and solutions. In this role you’ll perform customer demonstrations explaining features and benefits to customers, assist the customer with network and solution designs, and configure equipment to meet specific requirements. This is a highly demanding role in that A10 requires high caliber engineering resources, together with commercial pre‑sales acumen to drive success within the dynamic sales environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical and sales support for accounts and channel in assigned territory covering primarily Benelux and Scandics
• Technically qualifying sales opportunities
• Performing presentations (technical deep‑dive, products, solution) for customers, partners and prospects
• Assisting with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities
• Being responsible for setting up PoCs, testing, RFP handling & technical solutions drafting, competition analysis, training materials, and promotional documentation
• Providing analysis and input on feature requests required by customers and help qualify the value, timescales and win probability of having such features in the products
• Internal training for sales and marketing team; external training for channel partners & key customers
• Remote and on‑site support for customer technical problems and issues
• Diagnosing and mitigating issues by jointly working with and assisting TAC & relevant internal teams for key customers

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in EE or CS (or equivalent)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in pre‑sales
• Knowledge of Layer 3 – 7 protocols and technologies, such as TCP / IP, UDP, DNS and SSL / TLS, IPv6
• Experience for service provider networks
• Strong L2 / L3 expertise with an emphasis on Network Routing Protocols, such as OSPF, BGP
• In‑depth knowledge in multiple areas of specialization : Virtualization, Cloud‑Native, Application Acceleration, DDoS mitigation, CGN, IPv4 Preservation / IPv6 Migration technologies, service providers and security
• Strong operating experience in at least one of the following areas : Service providers networks, Application Delivery Controller, DDoS prevention, Large Scale NAT and Network Security
• Ability to work independently, effectively and as a team member
• Fluent in English, excellent spoken and written communications
• Available to travel within especially Benelux, Nordics and occasionally Europe, Middle East and Africa
• Available to travel to the US
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts
• Ability to forge new, strong business relationships
• Ability to take ownership of issues and drive resolution

Position Title : Systems Engineer (possibly a Senior Systems Engineer role for the right candidate)

Location : Netherlands

Desirable Skills

• Competitive knowledge in Layer 4 – 7 networking and applications including solutions, technology and product offerings
• Knowledgeable and conversant about company, competitive landscape, technologies, solutions, product strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats
• Knowledge of protocols and technologies in mobile service provider / ISP, such as CGNAT, Gi / SGi Firewall, GTP Firewall, DDoS Clean Pipe
• Scripting programming experience in Shell or TCL along with Unix / Linux technical experience
