A leading global insurance provider in Madrid is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to define and evolve application architecture and oversee cloud-native solutions. This role requires over 12 years of experience in software development and architecture, particularly in Java/J2EE. The ideal candidate will lead engineering teams and ensure alignment with best practices in scalability and security.
At L&H Solutions, we build and commercialize cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for Swiss Re Life & Health insurance clients. We offer a portfolio of over six products, including established offerings like Magnum with over 60 active clients worldwide, and innovative products such as UW Ease. We are a SW house within Swiss Re.
Our team consists of more than 150 technical professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in multiple countries, working on these multi-regional, highly available solutions.
As a Senior Technical Architect, you will be responsible for defining and evolving the technical architecture of Swiss Re’s Life & Health digital products. You will play a critical role in shaping end‑to‑end solution design, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability across distributed systems and cloud infrastructures.
This role requires deep technical expertise, hands‑on design capability, and the ability to influence engineering teams through thought leadership, coaching, and architectural governance. You will collaborate with product managers, delivery leads, and senior stakeholders to align technology strategy with business outcomes.

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full‑time role). The specific salary offered considers: the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
