DNA.inc is looking for a Java Backend Developer to help shape the backend architecture for one of our major digital partners. In this role, you'll be developing services and APIs that keep large-scale applications running smoothly and efficiently across Europe, ensuring every experience is reliable, secure, and a pleasure to use.
As a Java Backend Developer at DNA.inc, you'll design, build, and maintain modern backend systems built on Java and Spring Boot. You'll work closely with a cross‑functional team of developers, DevOps engineers, and designers to bring robust and elegant solutions to production.
Design, develop, and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs using Java 17+ and Spring Boot
Optimize performance and scalability across distributed systems
Work with relational and non‑relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
Collaborate with front‑end and mobile engineers to ensure seamless feature integration
Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain code quality
Contribute to infrastructure automation using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling
Keep an eye on new trends and technologies to continuously improve system architecture and reliability
To be considered a candidate for this position, we expect you to have:
At least 6+ years of professional experience in Backend Development
Strong experience with Java 11+ (ideally 17+) and Spring Boot
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservice architecture
Hands‑on experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redis
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
It would also be great if you have:
Experience with event‑driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
Familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines and observability tools
Exposure to system integrations between multiple large‑scale platforms
Interest in streaming, media, or large‑scale digital services
