A leading pharmaceutical company in Madrid is seeking a Finance Senior Analyst to manage financial planning and project controlling for global stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field, along with at least 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate monthly closings, supporting decision-making through financial insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role requires advanced Excel skills, proficiency in SAP, and fluency in English.

What are we looking for?
  • Manage financial planning, project controlling, and high-quality reporting for Global Finance and R&D stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong financial governance, full cost transparency, and accurate monthly closings.
  • Drive continuous improvements in systems, processes, and workflows to optimize monitoring and management of R&D expenditures.
  • Establish and standardize monthly closing procedures to capture R&D expenses and resource allocation accurately and timely.
  • Monitor project financial performance, identifying deviations, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explain project economics and support value-driven decision-making.
  • Support the transition to a project-based financial reporting model globally.
  • Contribute to R&D capacity planning by aligning resource needs with financial plans and business priorities.
  • Develop and refine CAPEX and indirect cost allocation methodologies for R&D projects.
  • Strengthen end-to-end financial visibility by linking development costs to launched and late-stage products.
  • Prepare productivity and efficiency analyses in R&D, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Create automated, analytics-driven tools to enhance insights for Finance and R&D leadership.

What do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A and financial controlling.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, margin analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of margin analysis, reporting methodologies, internal control frameworks, and financial governance.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP and financial planning tools.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools for reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to lead projects and collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Proactive mindset, independent thinker, and solution-oriented.
  • Fluent in English.
