Our global Cyber Security organization, headed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), protects BASF IT and OT systems from hacker attacks and ensures information security. We reduce the threat level with strategic and operational activities and, through dedicated projects, increase cyber security maturity across the organization. We aim to secure the digital transformation in a sustainable way while supporting our customers and stakeholders as partners. Our goal is to enable and support the business by empowering employees to work securely and by raising awareness of information protection.

You will be part of the Device and Data Security team within the product family Cyber Engineering Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solutions, which manages the digital identity lifecycle, provides BASF-wide standard authentication and authorization services, and delivers solutions related to data and device security. The team proactively designs, implements, improves and automates security solutions across device types and for sensitive business data, reducing cyber risks and attack surfaces in line with BASF Cyber Security Strategy and Initiatives and in consideration of business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, evaluate, implement and continuously improve technical solutions for Information Protection including Data Loss Prevention and Insider Risk Management.
  • Enhance classification, labeling, protection, and monitoring of sensitive data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Automate security tasks to optimize processes and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with internal Cyber Security teams to maintain consistent and risk-informed data handling procedures.
  • Facilitate collaboration with internal business partners to align their requirements with the technical capabilities of the security landscape.
  • Present technical progress and achievements clearly to management, translating risk mitigation outcomes into meaningful business metrics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of information protection principles.
  • Proficiency in IT security principles and practices.
  • Ideally experience with Microsoft Purview or other Data Loss Prevention tools.
  • Optional knowledge in Power Platform.
  • Strong analytical skills to accurately identify issues, develop viable solutions, and present them effectively.
  • Agile mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation in a dynamic technological environment.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of German or Spanish is advantageous.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or PowerShell and AI APIs.
