Overview

At ESTAL, we develop high-end packaging solutions for some of the most prestigious international brands across Spirits, Gourmet and other premium categories. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager for the Ontop Business Unit (Closures) to drive growth, maximize synergies with existing clients and develop new business opportunities with a strong complete pack approach (closures + glass). This role is primarily focused on closures and caps, while offering the opportunity to progressively build knowledge in glass packaging. It combines technical expertise, business development and close collaboration with internal commercial teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop closures business within existing glass clients, acting as a technical and commercial advisor to the Glass Sales team
  • Identify new opportunities in closures, ensuring that glass solutions are automatically considered and proposed as part of a complete pack whenever relevant
  • Promote and implement the complete pack strategy, creating added value both for clients and for ESTAL
  • Open and develop new accounts, primarily through closures, with the possibility of expanding into glass packaging as a natural next step
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders
  • Define and execute commercial strategies adapted to each client, market and product category
  • Lead negotiations, manage pricing strategies and close agreements aligned with company objectives
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (glass sales, product, R&D, quality, marketing and operations) to deliver robust and differentiated solutions
  • Represent ESTAL and the Ontop Business Unit at international trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and innovation within closures and packaging materials
Qualifications
  • Languages: Spanish and English – High proficiency (C1 level or equivalent). Additional languages are a plus
  • Experience: Ideally 5+ years in business development or sales within closures, caps, cork or related packaging sectors. Strong profiles with slightly less experience may also be considered
  • Solid knowledge of closure systems, materials and performance requirements
  • Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and handle multiple markets
  • Education: University degree is a plus, but not mandatory if experience and competencies are strong
  • Travel availability: Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
