The Project & Opportunity

HumeLink East involves the expansion of the existing Bannaby 500 kV substation, along with the design and construction of 230 km of new 500 kV double circuit transmission line. This new transmission line will connect the Bannaby 500 kV substation at the Wondalga interface point with HumeLink West. We are seeking to appoint a Safety Manager to join an established safety team working on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Occupational Health and Safety strategies, systems and initiatives

• Ensure the Project is compliant with the requirements of the relevant legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards

• Develop and maintain a base SWMS register and support Project staff in reviewing and updating Project SWMS;

• Prepare and distribute approved "health and safety reports" (i.e. news of recent incidents)

• Coordinate and maintain inspection registers, audits schedules, and compliance registers;

• Participate in site inspections, audits, and Safety Management System reviews

Required Skills and Competencies

• Experience in disciplines such as rail and associated infrastructure

• Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety

• Incident Investigation (ICAM/Root Cause or equivalent)
