A leading international school in Villanueva de la Cañada is seeking a Biology DP & Bachillerato Teacher. The role involves teaching Biology under IB and national standards, implementing inquiry-based learning, and promoting scientific literacy. This position offers a full-time, indefinite contract with working hours from 9:00 to 17:00.

Formación

• 2 to 5 years of teaching experience, preferably with IB programmes.

SEK International School El Castillo is seeking to incorporate a Biology DP & Bachillerato Teacher immediately.

Mission:

Empower students to become critical thinkers, scientific investigators, and responsible global citizens by fostering a deep understanding of the natural world through inquiry-based learning, analysis, and the scientific method. This role supports rigorous Biology instruction in both the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the national Baccalaureate curriculum, promoting connections between scientific theory and real-world application.

Functions:

- Teach Biology following IB Diploma Programme and national Baccalaureate curriculum standards.

- Implement inquiry-based and student-centered learning approaches in lesson planning and lab investigations.

- Promote scientific literacy, ethical considerations, and responsible use of scientific data and resources.

- Support interdisciplinary collaboration to integrate Biology with other subjects and real-life contexts.

- Participate actively in departmental and cross-curricular planning meetings.

- Collaborate on the design, standardization, and moderation of assessments.

- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Biology curriculum and teaching practices.

- Stay updated on IB and national curriculum developments, as well as advances in science education best practices.

Requirements:

- University degree in Biology.

- Master’s Degree in Secondary and Baccalaureate Education (or equivalent teaching qualification).

- 2 to 5 years of teaching experience, preferably with IB programmes.

- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
