Descripción del empleo
Description

The Latin American and Iberian Legal Team supports all aspects of the company's operations across a diverse and complex region, including Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, and Portugal.

We are a high-performing team responsible for the entire legal function, excluding dedicated areas like Customer Contracts, Privacy, and Compliance (where we provide local insight and implementation support). Our core mission is to enable business growth while ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risk.

Integration Project Focus: This role is initially heavily focused on the post-acquisition legal integration of entities in Spain and Portugal. The project demands expertise in harmonizing employment terms, compensation structures, and HR operational policies, ensuring seamless transition and legal compliance in both jurisdictions.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Law Degree in Spain, Portugal, or another relevant jurisdiction.
  • Post-graduate degrees or Master's in Law are highly valued.
  • 5+ years of professional legal experience, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department of a multinational company. Preferably in the Technology industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in M&A transactions, including both corporate aspects and, crucially, significant experience with post-acquisition HR/labor law integration in Spain and/or Portugal.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese Labor Law and Corporate Law is a must.
  • Experience with LatAm legal frameworks is highly valued.
Competencies
  • Business acumen & strategic thinking: ability to understand business needs and provide practical, risk-balanced legal solutions that enable company objectives, rather than simply identifying problems.
  • Cross-jurisdictional expertise: Capability to navigate and compare legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Influence & collaboration: strong interpersonal skills to effectively partner with diverse stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and leadership, in a remote and multicultural environment.
  • Proactiveness & ownership: high degree of initiative, able to manage complex projects autonomously, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: ability to draft clear, concise legal documents and articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences in a professional manner.
Job responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel with a Law Degree in Spain or Portugal to join our dynamic Latin American and Iberian Legal Team.

This pivotal role will be instrumental in the successful integration of a recently acquired company with legal entities in Spain and Portugal. His/Her primary focus will be on navigating the complex legal landscape of Human Resources, Total Rewards, and HR‑Operations integration and alignment to GL's standards, principles and policies, while also leveraging strong corporate experience to actively collaborate with the rest of the team on managing the administration of the entities in both countries and their compliance with local obligations and recurring corporate filings.

Beyond the integration project, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the broader legal needs of our fast-growing business across Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong linguistic capabilities, sharp legal acumen, and a proactive, business‑oriented approach.
