About the Role

As a Lead Backend Developer specializing in the sports betting industry, you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems and applications to support our sports betting platform. Your expertise in backend development and sports betting relevant technical skills will be instrumental in driving the success of our platform and delivering value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs to support our sports betting platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers to understand requirements and implement backend solutions that meet business needs.
• Implement integrations with third-party data providers, payment gateways, and other external systems to enhance the functionality of our platform.
• Optimize backend processes and algorithms to improve system efficiency, data processing speed, and overall performance.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, queries, and stored procedures for data storage and retrieval, leveraging technologies such as MongoDB, SQL, and other relevant databases.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security features to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Monitor backend systems and infrastructure, identifying and resolving performance issues, bugs, and other technical challenges promptly.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in backend development, incorporating new tools and methodologies into development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a backend developer, with a focus on developing scalable and high-performance backend systems and APIs.
• SStrong proficiency in Java with experience working on Microservices Architecture, Event Driven design and Kafka.
• Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, SQL, and relational databases, with the ability to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
• Knowledge of web technologies and protocols including HTTP, RESTful APIs, and WebSocket.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, with experience in agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
