A leading manufacturer of chocolate products in Spain is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct quality control checks and analyses of raw materials and finished products. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or similar field, along with over 2 years of experience in advanced analytical techniques. Responsibilities include quality assessment, equipment calibration, and ensuring laboratory safety. ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Laboratory Technician conducts daily in‑process quality control checks as well as physico‑chemical analysis and micro determinations of incoming raw materials, finished products and plant environment. This role has either an emphasis on a continuous evaluation of the process, goods and the close follow‑up of the environmental monitoring. The incumbent organizes, updates, analyzes and reports the results in both written and verbal form to the QA team and the other involved departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Carry out in‑process and finished goods sampling in / out the premises for analysis. Inform and liaise with production on the quality status during the process control analysis.
  • Carry out inspection on packaging and raw materials.
  • Assist in sample preparation of daily sensory evaluation.
  • Update product status in the warehouse with the appropriate stickers.
  • Assist in preparing CoC/CoA.
  • Nonconformity management related to raw materials, packaging and products.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure safety in the working area.
  • Keep track of the fungible materials inventory in the laboratory.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory analytical instruments when required.
  • Assist in other QA activities.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced analytical techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of analytical laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Methodological and analytical skills.
  • Strong initiative, autonomy and communication skills with team spirit.
