A leading consulting firm seeks a Freelance Information Security Risk Consultant to deliver on-demand risk assessment services. This 100% remote position requires significant experience in information security, proficiency in English, and a willingness to travel to Vienna when needed. The consultant will conduct various assessments, produce reports, and provide training to clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

We’re looking for a Freelance Information Security Risk Consultant (100% Remote, Europe-based)

We’re seeking an experienced freelance consultant to deliver Information Security Risk Assessment (ISRA) Services on-demand. This is a 100% remote position, but you must be based within Europe and willing to travel to Vienna if specifically requested (expenses covered).

• Perform risk assessments (small to major engagements, 1–10+ days each)
• Produce clear, professional English-language risk assessment reports
• Deliver online training sessions (½ day each, for up to 10 participants) on risk management processes
• 1 Major Assessment per year (10+ days)
• 5 Medium Assessments per year (3–10 days each)
• 9 Small Assessments per year (1–2 days each)
• Up to 5 online training sessions per year
• Strong experience conducting information security risk assessments
• Hands-on with frameworks such as :
• ISO 27005, ISO 27001
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
• Experience with compliance and governance
• Documented track record delivering risk assessments for large organisations (preferably public / international)
• Able to deliver both small and large assessments in professional English
• Comfortable leading remote training sessions in English

Certifications (minimum 2 required) :

• CRISC, CRA, PRM, ISSAP
• TOGAF 9.1 Certified
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• All documentation and communication will be in English
• 100% remote (Europe-based only)
• Willingness to work onsite in Vienna upon specific customer request (travel billed separately)
