Job Category: Health, Medical & Pharmaceutical

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is the place most Australians turn to when they receive a breast cancer diagnosis. Our aim is to ensure that everyone affected by breast cancer receives the information and support they need, and that their voices aren’t just heard, but amplified. This is what empowers individuals, and creates meaningful, lasting change.

Community is at the heart of BCNA’s work. We know that when people come together to share their experiences and expertise, it means better outcomes for them, and better outcomes for our healthcare system.

BCNA was born when a small group of determined women came together to improve the breast cancer journey. When Lyn Swinburne founded BCNA in 1998, her vision was for no one to feel alone through their experience of breast cancer.

Over the past 25 years, we have built a strong and resilient network that has brought together over 250,000 individuals, so far. We are led by the lived experience of those who have already been diagnosed, so we can support their journeys today, and improve the lives of those who will be diagnosed tomorrow.

We’re growing! As part of our ambitious new strategy, we’re creating exciting opportunities for motivated professionals to join us and help shape the future of BCNA. This role reflects our commitment to innovation, strengthening our services, and expanding our impact to deliver even greater value to the communities we serve.

As Australia’s leading breast cancer consumer organisation, we're seeking a Health Information Program Manager to shape the way thousands of Australians access trusted, evidence-based health content that supports anyone affected by a breast cancer diagnosis – including those at risk, carers, loved ones and health practitioners. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a small, high-performing team to drive the strategy, governance and delivery of BCNA’s health information across our digital platforms.

Job Description

This role will provide strategic and program management leadership for BCNA’s health information and digital content performance. The role leads our health information program, overseeing planning, delivery, governance and evaluation across our website, My Journey – BCNA’s personalised breast cancer support tool – and related digital platforms. You will ensure that all health information content is evidence‑based, accessible, inclusive and delivers measurable progress towards our mission to ensure every person affected by breast cancer receives the best possible care and support.

Working closely with clinical experts, consumer representatives, internal stakeholders and users of our services, the role oversees the end‑to‑end content lifecycle, from planning and prioritisation through to review, approval, publication and evaluation - all within a structured program management framework.

The role will lead a small, highly skilled team responsible for delivering trusted digital health content, digital content design and web analytics – balancing strategic direction with hands‑on management of content governance, stakeholder engagement and quality assurance.

Desired Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who can bring the following expertise:

  • Strong understanding of health communication, plain language, health literacy and user‑centred content design.
  • A gifted communicator, editor and coordinator.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across clinical, consumer and digital contexts.
  • Experience managing content within a CMS and familiarity with digital publishing processes.
  • Understanding of SEO, accessibility and analytics in a digital health context.
  • Knowledge of breast cancer, oncology or health promotion communications would be an advantage.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Make a real impact by ensuring every person affected by breast cancer receives clinically relevant, accessible and trustworthy information.
  • Lead with purpose in a values‑driven organisation committed to care, courage, accountability, and belonging.
  • Collaborate with experts and consumers to create content that reflects lived experience and clinical best practice.
  • Drive innovation in digital health, leveraging analytics and user‑centred design to continuously improve engagement and outcomes.

How to apply

If you’re ready to be part of something special and you’re passionate about health communication, digital transformation and leading programs that change lives, we’d love to hear from you. Please click the Apply button and attach:

  • a cover letter that references the key selection criteria.
  • a resume that outlines your skills and experience for this position.

BCNA is an employer of equal opportunity and encourages and values diversity and inclusion. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must hold unlimited working rights suitable for an ongoing role and will be subject to successfully completing a National Police History Check.
